The terms that govern your use of tapevault.net and the TapeVault software, and your subscription with Veteran IT Co., Ltd.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you (an individual or the organization you represent, "you") and 주식회사 베테랑아이티 (Veteran IT Co., Ltd.) ("Veteran IT", "we", "us"), a company registered in Seocho-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea. By downloading, installing, activating, or using TapeVault, or by browsing tapevault.net, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website or software.
TapeVault is Windows desktop software for managing LTO tape archives (the "Software"). It is licensed, not sold, to you on a subscription basis as described in Section 4. Use of the Software also requires acceptance of the TapeVault License, which governs the specific rights and restrictions attached to the Software itself. If there is a conflict between these Terms and the License regarding software usage rights, the License controls.
New customers may use TapeVault free for 30 days with full features. No credit card is required to start a trial. At the end of the trial period, the Software will stop functioning until you purchase a paid subscription. We do not automatically charge you at the end of a trial.
TapeVault is offered under the following plans, described in full on our Pricing page:

Each active subscription license activates the Software on one computer at a time. You may transfer your license to a different machine by deactivating it on the old machine and activating it on the new one; an internet connection is required only during activation and transfer.

The Software, website, logos, and all related content are the intellectual property of Veteran IT Co., Ltd. and its licensors, protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you only the limited license described in Section 4 and the License — no other rights are transferred.
TapeVault may interoperate with or rely on third-party and open-source components (for example, FFmpeg for thumbnail generation). Such components remain subject to their own licenses. See the License page for details.
THE SOFTWARE AND WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will prevent all data loss. You are responsible for maintaining independent backups of critical data. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties that cannot be lawfully excluded under applicable consumer protection law.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VETERAN IT CO., LTD. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE OR WEBSITE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Software if you materially breach these Terms or the License, including through license abuse. You may stop using the Software and let your subscription lapse at any time — since there is no automatic renewal, no cancellation action is required. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7, 9, and 10) will survive.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts having jurisdiction over Seocho-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea, except where mandatory local consumer protection law grants you the right to bring proceedings in your own country of residence (applicable to EU/EEA and UK consumers).
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and where appropriate we will notify active subscribers by email. Continued use of the Software or website after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
